The "court" or better stated "jury" is now Congress. That is who must be persuaded. Pence does not have the power to reject votes. That is pure misinformation. Only votes that can be objected to are votes from States that sent 2 legitimate slates of Electors. Michigan only sent 1 slate without objection by the legislature therefore the votes sent by Michigan "shall be counted" per 3 USC ch. 1 sec. 15 16 & 17. Those are the same laws that govern the Congressional counting procedure and contrary to popular belief they do not grant power to the President of the Senate to reject votes. Only Congress does by a rep and sen objecting in writing without argument their objection. Both houses separate and vote by roll call (not state delegations which has also been bogusly reported) Only if both houses agree to the objections are those votes rejected and replaced. The # of votes required does not change except thru the 14th amendment sec 2 or 3 i forget, 2 i think. So Congress is who needs to be persuaded to reject bogus Electors. End of story.
