The cytokine storm has its root in the T-cell immunity. The adaptive immune system can chose between B cell and T cell immunity. With B cell immunity, the virus gets attacked by antibodies. With T cell immunity, the virus gets attacked by cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. In C19, if there is enough vitamin D present, the immune system chooses the antibody defense. If there is not enough vitamin D present, the immune system chooses the cytotoxic defense. This is why vitamin D is so extraordinary important. There are many studies that show that the survival rate of C19 is direct determined by the vitamin D level.
