From Jim Stone:

CENSORSHIP WARNING: THE NEXT LEVEL, YOU MUST BLOCK THE GOOGLE BOT FROM VIEWING YOUR WEB SITE NOW

Google has become part of an integrated system which sniffs all content off "banned" sites and then prevents that content from being sent in e-mails, even without links.

This means that if anyone copies anything off your site and tries to send it, it will get deleted from whatever message you send, or go entirely into a spam filter.

This means that if anyone copies anything off your site and tries to send it, it will get deleted from whatever message you send, or go entirely into a spam filter.**

YOU MUST BLOCK GOOGLE ...to stop it from getting any data from your site, anything Google gets will go directly into the internet trash bin when people try to repeat it, even when it is kept completely outside the realm of Google.

Forget the norobots command, Google does not respect anything anymore. It will just pretend to not be a robot and will go in anyway.

To block Google for real, take this data and drop it into your .htaccess file:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteOptions inherit

If you can still see the Googlebot in your stats, you have to extract the IP addresses it used and then ban them the same way. This ought to be a really good start.

If Google won't post your content anyway, why on earth would you allow them to index the content of your site and then put it in spam filters ALL PLATFORMS USE? You'll never spread a message!

Thank you Patriot.

  1. Where is the .htaccess file? I have Bluehost.com and I can't seem to find it in the web interface for Bluehost. I looked in several directories.
  2. How are comments made in the .htaccess file?
  3. And how would we block these IPs using robots.txt file? This may not be a good idea because Google might ignore the robots.txt file.
  4. Is this a range of IP addresses? 64.233.160.0/191.255 Can you explain how the range works in this format? The Bluehost IP blocker is expecting this format for a range: 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.40

How to see which bots access yours site on Bluehost.com. Ok I think I found how to view which bots are getting to my site.

  1. Go to your Bluehost dashboard.
  2. On the left of the browser window, click Advanced.
  3. Scroll down to "Metrics" and control-click AWStatus to open the stats page in another browser tab.
  4. Choose which site protocol you want to view, HTTP or HTTPS. Click the "View" link to see the protocol for your site. Most of my visitors use HTTPS.
  5. Now in AWStatus, on the left, cick "Robots/Spiders". I see several bots there including the Yandex bot and Google bot. The hits column says "XXX+YYY". I don't know why there are 2 different numbers there. Total hits and unique users that went there?
