I was also saying that masks will help people commit voter fraud. My parents both early voted last week and one person checking IDs asked my dad to pull his mask down to match his DL. The person checking my mom in said "I can tell by your eyes that this is you" and didn't ask her to unmask.
Also, one of Abbott's exceptions to the mandatory masking is voting. But you are right - if masks work, there is no reason not to have in-person voting.
