McChrystal was a strategic analyst and crunched high volumes of data for the Department of Defense. He was usually given a scenario and he went off and consumed as much data as possible in order to develop strategic response.
This is exactly what he has continued to do after his retirement.

I watched this documentary a while back. The same techniques used in the Iraq war are being used against us in our own country.
