4 and a whopping 35-45 HP, 0-60 downhill, cause the top speed was around 40mph.
The Jeep is responsible for killing more kidneys and removing fillings than any other mode of transport, rough ride was an understatement.
Oh, it got about 15mpg too.
Just looked up the official specs....Jesus they made the jeep look great on paper to the army...in reality that 60hp was more like 40 and that top speed of 60mph was in a hurricane and tornado while falling off a cliff...we had a neighbor that had one and I drove it all the time. Smoked like a grassfire too, the oil rings were commonly spent quickly.
