Back when a man with the skills and knowledge to do so could start his his own car company, and if the product was good and priced right you were on your way to success. Now you have to start off with a billion dollar corporation and probably a few politicians in your pocket to start a car company in the USA.

"National" automobile company. They even had an electric line. In 1906 :

"Watch for the round radiator" Not sure, but I think the car on the cover is a National - it has a round radiator.
