Tests include memory and execution time constraints which often hold up solutions. Tests includes ones where you know the inputs and correct outputs and not. The tests that do not include letting you know the inputs and correct outputs obviously are designed to hang you up or have execution / memory constraints with inputs in the size of the 109 or dealing with numbers that would go up to 21000 if you tried to outright solve the problem.
Wasn't not able to solve any problem. But it would have taken hours to solve some of them to pass all the tests for memory / time constraints.
I just finished a CS masters. I can tell you many of these problems 10% of any of my classes wouldn't have been able to solve them at all.
