I've been fooling around with AI and video/image reproduction. I'd love to play with camera position as a parameter. If I had a series of images with the camera in known positions that would be good enough to try something, but video would be even better.

Surely someone has bothered to make a data set that includes image data and camera position data.

I think GoPros can save gps and other telemetry metadata with the video.

The telemetry would definitely be what I'm after. I don't need to know absolute position and I would need it more accurate than the gps could do.

That does give me another keyword to search. Camera position, pose, and I guess know telemetry are all keywords for it.. but in the case of the first two the most popular results don't really help. Camera pose is the term most often used, but when you look up pose, dataset, and any other combination of words you end up getting people in poses.

Everyone wants to use AI for classification but it's the lamest thing to do with AI.

Look into finding motion capture data sets, the cameras are set in multiple locations and their position and angle are needed to properly calculate the movements they capture.

The problem there is usually the cameras don't move. I'm actually buying a gopro and very happy this project convinced me to buy one. I probably should have years ago.

Though maybe the multiple positions is enough. It would be cool if I could successfully interpolate in-between positions. Something tells me the method I plan to use won't do that well from three of four positions.
