1) I nuked FB 2) I quit porn 3) I have also tried programming before but never really was able to pull it all together.

But know I have this restless energy to do something. I have always wanted to write my own version of LISP, or something like that. Yeah, it's been done, yes mine would most likely suck, but it would be mine.

IDK, open to suggestions.

EDIT: there is only so much KSP one can play.

I like trouble shooting things that bother me in the house. Like the closets having ridiculous amounts of vertical space above the top shelf. It's easy to cut wood and install an extra shelf or two, depending on the space.

Recently got into planting a tank. Have always wanted one, finally am doing it. Do you have anything you always wanted but didn't do it because X?

This last year I learned to make soap, how to knit, how to make fancy bread, planted new fruit trees and learned about their care, learned and actually helped goats deliver with poor positioned kids, learned how to put up wood post fencing and use a tractor with an auger. I'm sure there were a lot of other things too. There's always something to do and learn.

Read a book. Go on a hike. Make friends in RL. Get a girlfriend. Learn a new language (spoken). Start a business. Go back to school. Start a family. Adopt a pet. Read the Bible. All worthy endeavors my friend, and I am not trying to be patronizing. We waste far too much time on things that are worthless, and I don’t believe this is what our Creator intended, rather it is of the enemy. Probably not the answer you were looking for...

Workout, stay fit and strong. Renovating my house, painting, floors, garden etc. Walk the dogs, read, listen to classical music.

This is probably a data gathering thread on us by the way. Hi FBI!!!

If you're just getting into programming then writing a compiler would be a fairly challenging and probably frustrating.

Is there any particular type of programming you're more interested in? Maybe writing a small application to do something you need or a database project, or you could get an arduino or similar and screw around with embedded controllers or robotics.

Programming-wise? I've been on-off trying to write games and implementations for whatever random idea I've had since 12. Sad thing is I usually end up scrapping it and trying something else, good thing is that I've refined and evolved my skills over time.

Though if you haven't completely written off programming and like games (specifically puzzle games), ever heard of Shenzhen I/O? It's basically an electronics engineer simulator; you build circuits and write assembly code for fun. It's a good balance of gaming and learning a skill that could actually be useful.

Otherwise, I'd recommend learning a new language or starting a new hobby of some sorts. I've been practicing drawing lately so I'd use more of the creative side of my brain instead of only the logical side, like at work.

CIV 6

Could Civ 6 really be that good?

No. You are better off doing something worthwhile...but it passes the fucking time for sure.

Excellent life choices.

Lisp is great; I started using Common Lisp around a decade ago, and have never found anything better, except maybe Forth. I recommend reading _On Lisp_ and _Let Over Lambda_, in that order. You'll know things that a billion pajeets writing Java can never imagine.

As for projects, I recently made a miniaturized version of Antimicro. I spend a lot of time thinking about designs for computers, OSes and languages to make computing fun again.

I wrap rubber bands around my dick

Is that fun? Does it help?

Good for you. I have no ability to program or code at all. My talents are elsewhere. But if i did i always wanted to write code for my own game.
