There's so much to say

Everything he says is true, technically

A good programmer needs good basis, 3 to 5 different languages (more won't hurt), let's say js, java, php, python, c++ or whatever are your favorite fruitcakes, being familiar/at ease with databases and command line stuffs in general

And then it's all about character;you keep digging and digging and digging until your shit works, never give up never surrender

And it's probably the most important part, because you'll always run into the new old and you'll always have to figure out how to make the shit work just like you figured out how to make the shit work until now

Programming fatigue is a thing though

I thinks it's a good thing to push yourself to your full potential, but there can be a downside for pushing to hard for too long.

Yeah exactly, "over use", it's true for everyhting with the body. Cardio training for instance, you do none it's bad for the heart, you do too much it's equally bad. Both ways it makes it age faster

Walking barefoot too, it's another example, it can turn super bad with over use, depends

Spartans for example used to make their kids walk barefoot to fortify the feet, but then when the skeleton gets much heavier crica adulthood, they were allowed to wear shoes
