750mW-1kW will go through the housing of the camera. Be safe with your lasers!

Don’t give me that crap about the founding fathers not having 1kW lasers in mind when they wrote the second amendment. My 1MW laser is for pointing purposes only. I point it at things that I would like to burn holes in.

Where can one buy a laser that is 750mw? Asking for a friend.

Also, I didn’t go to laser college, is there one that the beam cannot be seen? Just the dot? I don’t need a fucking light saber tracking back to the location it came from.

Yes, you can either use an infrared one, or an ultraviolet one to be invisible to the human eye. They are exceptionally more dangerous because of this, and you'll find them quite a bit more difficult to aim for the same reason. Some cameras can filter specific wavelengths, so for best results try to stick within the visible range or run an infrared coupled with an ultraviolet.

Also, you'll need a much higher output than 1mw to destroy the CCD. The greater the distance, the more power you'll need due to divergence.
