All that needs to happen to curtail this practice of digital privacy invasion is for one high profile celebrity or politician to get goodified using their historical location data recovered from their former vehicles. All of a sudden the elite will pretend that they care about data privacy and safety and make changes to prevent his from happening again and again. They only care when it affects them so maybe some morally flexible, tech savvy individual will make the (((elite))) concerned for their safety.
Yeah, Cars that track anything (they should not) should at least have a "factory reset" that wipes ALL historical data from the vehicle that is not directly related to it being serviced or engine function.
