Exif data is a thing. However, it doesn't really matter anymore. Several AI models are good enough they can accurately "guess" a location from one or two pictures.

turn every setting under the sun off on your mobile device, minimize battery, turn off default settings in apps, turn off background data access and disable every location request for every app including google and android itself. The only location setting that can't be turned off is called "persistent location" and it appears to be baked into the os.

Unless you actually need location settings, turn that shit off.
