I recall a case where the always‐on recorded audio on an Amazon Echo was extracted by police and in court.

I think I remember reading something like that too. It could have been google or amazon but it really does not matter. Don't let a company put a microphone or camera in your home that you do not have 100% full control over with local-only storage.
