Yes, a very good point. Though, they will not tell you that you can opt out and eventually they won't let you opt out at all.

They are probably 98% there with your biometrics anyway, they just need to tie the bow to make this legally admissible. You confirmed your identity to TSA when you boarded the flight after biometric scan, or some "voluntary" bullshit.
