A CB and a widebad receiver with a good AM section will be useful. SW? Not so much anymore, there's very little being broadcast.
I keep a GE Superradio II as my "End of the world" device. It's got great AM reception.
Nobody broadcasts SW here now. Its still used overseas and useful for warlording. Even if you dont need a radio to talk, its good to be able to listen just in-case. Shit changes fast.

I got this because someone was going to throw it away. Obviously didn't know shit about it. If nothing else they are worth like 50 bucks on ebay.

Someone is asking over 150 dollars for a ICF-S10MK2 on Amazon which I have as well. wtf...
That is my best radio, but I actually have a couple of Sony radios I use more often a ICF-P26 and a ICF-F10.
