Shop around, negotiate, and offer to pay cash then and there. You'll be amazed.
I had to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed. No insurance. Told them I could pay cash, and the 6k price went down to 3k total (including the anaesthetist's fees), and the wait time went from 2 weeks to the very next working day.
