This is why you dont give anything to anyone. Make them earn it. This also applies to raising children especially. Even if its simple chores. They may not even realize it until 20 or 30 years later. To this day I understand and appreciate hard work and the value of my labor and others. When shit gets tough it comes in handy. Such a simple concept that most boomers did not instill into the next generations because "I want my kids to have a better life than me". The results are clear.
