But seriously. I'd say I'm pretty pessimist, but sometimes an optimist. My motto is, "Hope for the best, Prepare for the wost." And apparently preparing for the worst is racist.

It's about their beliefs on human nature. To a leftist their optimism is realism because most people would define themselves as realists.
