WaPOST piece & Ocasio-Cortez echo intersect neatly with CENTCOM commander's 6 June 2019 interview: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/military/u-s-commander-says-american-forces-face-imminent-threat-iran-n1014556
Not suggesting CENTCOM cdr coordinated with WaPOST publication time-line. Suggesting instead the possiblity that WaPOST used inside info about CENTCOM cdr interview to conflate a bribe with motive to manufacture a public scandal. And perhaps al-Kaznasan is in on the scam? No idea. But the way real-world circumstances like this intersect is uncanny.
Also, President Trump has been thumping on Iran as then candidate Trump since 15 July 2015: https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/statement-donald-j-trump-the-iran-agreement
Not sure why anyone, even Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, would think President Trump requires a bribe in order to act decisively against Iran. Except, perhaps, that this is another iteration of stagecraft.
