To get products into the US, it has to go through 1 of 3 countries. They tried Mexico, but the drug cartels and abject poverty and lawlessness kept leading to trucks being looted before getting to the US. The US has union run ports that are expensive and inefficient. That leaves Canada. Also interesting is the push to monitor the Canadian truckers, Chinese style.
