This is quite prevalent in the area where I live. I’ve got no beef with anyone with a similar story. It was not that long ago my grandfather started his life in America from Ellis island. He got a job, married a nice Italian girl who was born here, and raised a fabulous family. His children were NOT raised with his native tongue in order to better assimilate. It was all about assimilation.
