Venezuela is a great "no go" zone in the world, like North Korea. Plenty of cocaine moves through Venezuela and they even operate as a "neutral zone" for massive weapons trades, like when Hillary Clinton helped El Frente Amplio in Uruguay acquire boat loads of Iranian weapons. The Venezuelan Navy was the delivery service. Very accommodating.
As ridiculous as it sounds, a movie, "True Memoirs of an International Assassin" is a good introduction to the forces in Venezuela. A Russian mobster, a puppet President and a US backed Guerrilla group.

Hillary Clinton (or her puppeteers), who seemingly had no problem operating in this arena, is now out of power, creating a vacuum. Uranium, gold, cocaine and oil are all up for grabs. Russia, who Hillary helped with their uranium monopoly aspirations, has gone everywhere else, offering cheap nuclear reactors in exchange for mining rights. They are bidding against the US Bechtel in multiple countries, like Saudi Arabia.
This is where the game gets revealed. The news over played their hand criticizing the Saudi Arabia "nuclear secrets" from Trump. They are actively shilling for Rosatom. If it wasn't clear before, it is clear, now, that the media has no problem actively being traitorous.
The shot callers all go back to the mining industry. These entities go hand in hand with constructing massive underground structures that are hidden from the world. Limited information is available, but it is a fact that deep underground military bases exist; as well as deep under ocean bases. If you consider what the super rich might do with hidden, underground structures, you might see why the idea can be troubling. There is zero accountability for what happens underground.
Point being, the mining magnates are waging war with each other using the military might of entire countries. The corporate proxy war uses our military, who then uses third party assets which is where we now find ourselves in Venezuela.
The US would benefit most if Venezuela was allowed to operate autonomously because the price of oil would drop. For the average American, this is the greatest possible outcome. It is also the best possible outcome for Venezuelans.
But now, a Russian General with troops and equipment have landed in Caracas. They use the same old DARVO tactic of blaming the US, when they are the aggressor. This double speak will be lost upon millions of idiots.
Saudi Arabia is already tied to the whipping post, but Russia is trying to work around that, as we speak.
What we have learned is that all of the enemies of the US are working together to screw over the average american and our politicians have been happy to take payment for screwing us over. Venezuela will be no different.
The problem is, the US and Venezuelans will suffer under the subterfuge of Russian "help". If the US wants to win, it will help Venezuela destroy the organized crime syndicates, first; assassinations, leaks on corruption and arson of clandestine infrastructure. If I were a US military general, that would be my first move and I would attempt to have none of this gain too much attention while it was happening. Putin is using them to enrich himself and they are his boots on the ground. Send all his cocaine to the bottom of the ocean. Boats sink all the time. Planes often just fall out of the sky.

It has just reached "next level" and should be interesting to watch and, in my opinion, will be a good gauge of what Trump really is like as a President. As much as politics is a reality TV show, results are results and cannot be hidden. A lack of results cannot be hidden, either.
