I think this is one of those ideas that I see both sides of. I like it because it would guarantee every resident of the United States some level of income, especially in the case that their jobs end up getting replaced by automation. But at the same time, I also recognize the two possible downsides, which is inflation and not being able to afford such a program with what we use most of government budget on right now. If anything, I think there should be more experiments with this idea in different parts of state besides California so that we can have a more clear answer of whether this would work or not.
