I have a theory about this. Pelosi has been in power my entire lifetime. That kind of sustained career takes cunning skill. I don't think she is "rolling over" at all. I think she is "playing dumb" to allow progressive members the opportunity to become emboldened and out themselves. Then in the 2020 primaries Pelosi and other moderate Dems will not be focused on the POTUS race (it's a lost cause for them), but instead running strong primary candidates against the progressives to weed them out. Then after the 2020 clean up the Dems can emerge stronger and more moderate party. They will start fielding serious candidates for 2024 that middle America will embrace and try to swing back power and the WH to Dems. I really think that's the endgame here. The progressives are just a huge liability and are so arrogant right now they are going after industries and interests that sustain their own pocket book. They are just too stupid to realize this. Nancy isn't though.
