Right now they can't meet their goals for a professional military without the draft. It's been a continual problem. Yes, I agree that the better soldier is the one who wants to be there ... and I also agree that technology has decreased the demand for many things once related to military service ... however those being said, it still hurts no one to have a fall back plan should one ever be needed again. Just my opinion though ... I wouldn't lose sleep over it either way. In many ways though I think they should draft some folks again. Give kids a bit a discipline in their lives.
