Hopefully a good church will explain to you that most of the hardcore shit in Revelation (no S) was meant for a contemporary audience that actually did live through many of the events described therein.
No one misinterprets the book of Revelation more than modern-day Christians.

it specifically says many times these are prophecies for the future. it also says the lord will return like a thief in the night. youll either be ready or not, if youre not, youre going through tribulation. there will be no doubt that youre about to go through it. and youll have one last chance to rethink your reality before you go the same way as everyone else.
