With any politician it's always all about the votes. Say anything, promise anything to get them votes, then quickly deploy 'selective amnesia' once elected. Only thing more important is maybe them bribes, kickbacks, shadow funding, get-rich-quick schemes, and networking (gotta get set up to catch that brass ring for when the political career is over).
