Local governments are bullshit. I'd say quit paying tax to the fed and start working local, but your local government is ready to hand you over to the fed. Local government has been allowing themselves to be pushed around. They could raise taxes and actually defend their citizenry against invading feds, but they ally with the fed and their citizens keep paying the biggest bills to the fed.
