I assume most people on here realize the shift that happened after Occupy.
Please explain
Occupy Wall Street (2011-2012) was an anti-bank, anti-consumerist, against corporate influence on democracy, and against the economic inequality of the 1%. It was a movement that scared the hell out of the establishment. What is a more unifying message than 99% vs 1%?
They were not willing to give up their money and power and they needed to redirect that righteous leftist anger somewhere else, because the issue - their power and wealth - was never going away, it was only going to increase.
In come, the establishment's race war.

Within 4 years, the left went from a message of unity of the lower classes against the powerful elite that is the 1% to a message of unity of people of colors against White.
