So far as I know, the only critter like that I use is 'Toggle Javascript 1.3' (chrome extension I use on SRWare Iron), and it is easy to tell when it's on or off. Only turn it on when I have to, like when my 'overlay' blocker don't work. Also, there seems to be a glitch here that periodically disables the upvote click....I found that by turning the javascript on/off a few times I can usually upvote again...otherwise I have to log-out/log-in.
