The charge almost doesn't matter. What they do is arrest you on bullshit, book you, then drop the charges. You are still put away for hours to day s depending on the location. In the place where I am right now, it's about 3 days to get out on any charge, no matter how minor. Right here they legally have 72 hours to arraign you, and damned if they won't take it. Often, they do actually fail to arraign people and they have to let them out.
There should be something you can do against it, but as far as I know there are no consequences against cops for doing this.
