Ironically, one of the reasons it was deemed unnecessary is cable television (ie CNN). If they were thinking of restoring it, they'd probably argue the Internet makes it unnecessary.

I think that only applies to "broadcast" TV, CNN, as the C suggests, is cable. So, cohenveniently, those rules don't apply.
