Actually, you're either born with stupid or you're not. If someone else is in charge of your personal knowledge and intelligence, that would be a problem, I'll admit.
That goes back to the whole nature vs nurture debate and the locus of external control vs internal control. While it is unfortunate they are programming the youth a specific way it is possible to undermine it with independent study, one challenge would be to inspire the youth enough to pursue knowledge beyond 'making the grade' and 'acquiring that 4-year piece of paper'.
Given the insane rise of mask cultism, I am convinced that the vast majority of people are not in charge of their knowledge.

That's when it gets personal and you have to start kicking the people next to you in the ass when they start falling asleep, or if they're young..
If you're awake, that becomes your personal obligation. "You're being conned." should become your most frequent comment.
