I once asked a LEO "what gives you the right to search my vehicle and make a mess of it? Are you going to clean up after yourself and put everything back nice?"

Of course he said "I have the authority, and no, I will not"

I then asked "who GIVES you authority to hurt me and waste my time? I certainly don't want to hurt you"

He was speachless and told me to be on my way.

Ever since that encounter I have been wondering if no man has authority to begin with, how can man give it to someone else?

The worst thing you can do to an authority is ignore it.

That can usually be, not always, but frequently, a really dumb move.
