halal and kosher dietary "laws" were written thousands of years ago. they are outdated. for example, jews arent supposed to eat shellfish because, when that "law" was written, there was no way to keep the shellfish cold. and the meat spoils, quickly. also, kosher and halal slaughter "laws" don't consider the suffering of the animals. that's why they are banned.

They don't just "not consider" the suffering of the animals, it demands the suffering as part of it. Educate yourself. Whole foods soy-free vegetarian is the way to go.

Vegetarian is gay, humans are omnivores

Doesn't work unless you are one of the cultures where vegetarianism has been practiced for a few hundred years. To pick up the diet of another culture you also have to pick up their unique digestive bacteria otherwise you are going to have a bad time. I guess if you want to do a fecal transplant it would be ok.

Cows have specific digestive systems and digestive enzymes, bacteria that help it digest all the grass they eat. You can't decide to start eating grass one day and think you can stay healthy.

it's the 1st time i've read / heard that rationalization about eating meat. veganism isn't a "diet of another culture". and, many people regularly eat food from different parts of the world. i've been vegan a long time. i don't eat grass. i eat nuts, beans, rice, corn, pasta, mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, coconuts, bananas, spinach, etc. and i drink apple juice, orange juice, iced tea, beer, etc. those food and drinks don't require "unique digestive bacteria".

a vegan diet needs vitamin and mineral supplements. some are hard to get from plants, such as vitamin d and vitamin b12.

Actually true. Was talking to a geneticist a few (10) years ago and he gave me the example of Eskimos living quite well on whale fat, which you couldn't do.

I asked him if us burgers would be fine in a few hundred years with McDonalds and he just gave me the look. Apparently this stuff takes thousands of years of natural selection to pan out.

i've been vegetarian since '97, vegan since '02. don't condescend by typing / saying things such as "educate yourself". most people aren't going to be vegan. and some people search for reasons to dislike vegans. already, there's a negative comment about vegetarians. and probably, there will be more.

I only dislike vegans that I know about.

He's probably just reacting to the observation that most vegans appear to be Left wing.

Which seems to be why climate change and covid attract a lot of hate, because they are seen as solely Left wing ideas.

vegetarianism is OK, it's just a bit dull because bacon exists

smacking a jew upside the head with their food hypocrisy really upsets them.
