Sounds like a good idea to me, if the common man wrote the law then it would make sense and be easily understood. Lawyers seem incapable of making laws like that.

And we wouldn't need an army of 20-something leftist staffers for each congressman writing the bills to ensure that every lobbyist gets his money's worth in there. The power of these staffers reminds me of when "Mrs." 0bama pushed for school lunches, or when (((Jared Kushner))) rewrote one of Trump's executive orders, as they are exercising power of an elected without having been themselves elected to it.

The lobbyists write the bills wakey wakey

Isn't it more "Lobbyists hand cash to Congressmen in exchange for Congressmen telling their army of 20-something staffers to write favors for the lobbyists into their bill, while the Congressman goes off and spends the cash on some hookers"?

In other words, they are the deep state. Politicians come and go, but the staffers remain as a permanent government.

Sure seems like it, our only "defense" is that it seems that staffers have to be 20-somethings, maybe some 30-somethings to guide the newbies, so eventually they get too old...but the new youth coming in is just as leftist as the old youth.
