There are alternatives but they are getting few and far between but I believe in America and some bright White guy is going to start a company for (widgets) and explicitly claim that he will never be political. That's all it will take and many others, when they see his amazing success will follow suit.

It was a nice site but I guess they couldnt keep up with the expense of the constant DDOS. They went silent one day and after a while of no news randomly sold out. No warning or explanation to anyone. Then new owner comes in. They promptly obliterate the iron clad free speech policy, purges every single existing comment, wiped out hundreds if not thousands of articles, and even removed the old owners name from all existing articles.
Its a hollow parasite infested husk of what it used to be. Somehow it still has users.
