I do not regret killing that emperor. but he did have a great number of redeeming qualities. He just wanted his children to be STRONG! Sending his daughter away like that was kind of shitty, but to him it was clearly the correct decision at the time.
This was brilliant. I believe knowing the story in advance maybe helps. But on the other hand, it seems to musically tell the story pretty well on it's own.
The Emperor may be terrible, but I am still Imperial to the core, because we've all seen how corrupt the republic is.

Every time I watch this video I’m brought to tears. From the girls rejection of her mother after seeing her use her powers after being sent away. To the moment the lightsaber cuts his brother, and he finally receives recognition.
He only barely receives recognition at that.
And I may have felt these emotions you speak of as well, but I cannot ever admit to such a thing, for it is weakness!
But if I had, that only adds to my appreciation of this. Masterfully done!
