IQ measures the ability to notice and remember patterns, it makes no guarantees about how that ability is used.

It's great when making decision rapidly without time for careful decision, as it will help you more often then not.

It's bad when making decision of importance that should be approached logically without emotion. It's not about ignoring your bias, it's about seeing it and testing the bias to make sure it accurately applies.
