I watched the Elon Musk interview with Joe Rogan and noticed that the guy is very arrogant. He acts as if he knows everything, yet he's wrong on a lot of stuff. Whenever he's presented with information that he doesn't know he literally acts as if what you're saying is irrelevant. In the interview with Rogan he mis-quotes Carl Sagan, and then when Rogan tells him about an event he wasn't familiar with he immediately loses interest and acted as if Joe Rogan was the stupid one for knowing irrelevant things. Musk is very arrogant. He's smart, but he's not a genius. I have a feeling Musk thinks he's a lot smarter than he actually is. I wasn't impressed by him at all. He doesn't seem all that smart yet he acts like he's the world's smartest man.

Elon Musk said he invented the "Hyperloop" which is train in a tube and someone actually invented it like a hundred years ago. Also Musk said he would be on Mars by like 2018 and that never happened

I don’t particularly like him but I think it’s pretty common throughout history that men who accomplished amazing things didn’t always nail the timeframe the first time for the thing that everyone around him said was impossible.

He was supposed to send a robot there and he couldn't even do that. China has one there now

Hyperloop type concepts were known in the 70s.

Vacuum tubes are a bad idea anyway, it would be pressurized and dangerous.

I think another related idea was to send air in the same direction of travel as the train, to reduce drag.

Or have a turbo fan in front sucking the air and shooting it out the rear, to reduce drag. But something like that can be done with no tube.

I was all for high speed train until I went to a large city and rode the local metro, I realized there are too many niggers and foreigners. They act like garbage, hence why the trains are garbage and filthy. Only a homogenous country like Japan can have clean, quiet, structured high speed train travel.
