That and people want self driving cars, most people seem to treat driving as a means to an end rather than a skill. It’s simply something you must do to cross large distances. If you can remove the energy it takes to do it people will get on board, even the guy that says oh I’ll never trust a machine to drive, he’ll be right there browsing Facebook on his phone while his car drives him to work the minute he thinks it’s safe.
Self driving cars are only allowed in trials where the companies developing them takes full responsibility. Before fully autonomous ones are allowed they will be regulated and regulations will clarify how responsibility is handled. Cars are also said to drive safer than humans, whereas cheap drones can pose a risk to hundreds of passengers on a plane. And airspace is generally a lot more regulated than roads.
Okay, so I'll take full responsibility for my drones, kind of like Uber took full responsibility for killing that pedestrian.
Regarding passenger plane safety, we should hunt birds to extinction because they are a far greater risk and also a proven risk.
I'll take full responsibility for my drones
Just make sure you have a few millions to come up for damages and you could get a permit.
So how many millions did they pay out to that dead guy's family?
Also, I see no reason why my right to freedom should be limited by the amount of money or credit I have.
