A based Chinese friend of mine who died mysteriously of a heart attack in his 20s after returning home to China used to say something like: "Yea it's fucked but, meh, what can I do? They have all the power, the police, and the media." So in the West he was pretty outspoken. Couldn't be that way at home. I think he might have tried and got clapped. He wasn't even anti-China. Just not a commie at heart.
Now I see a surprising number of Westerners talking this way. Yea, the election was stolen, but what can I do?
