I suspect you are still thirties
Yes.
It's game over for me.
Why? You aren't old. Listen, you and I are both old from the 21-yr old perspective. My mother had a fucked up string of relationships through the entire decade of her 40s. She remarried at 53 (if I remember correctly), and the change was remarkable. This is heavier than you probably care to consider, but there was a time that I'd authentically worried about the 's' word. Her life was bad, to put it mildly, and I don't mean financially. She is good at what she does, and she's managed to keep a fairly well-paying job, despite crazy cycles of pill addiction and relationships with abusive men. She didn't turn it around until 53, and she met the guy online.
I've always been skeptical about online dating, but it's been several years now, and he's one of the best people I've ever met. He treats her like a fucking queen.
I want to say you are, what, early 40s? I don't know why you'd say, 'it's game over for me.'
You are a bitch, but it's like a sharp, intelligent and thoughtful kind of bitchy. :)
What could be stopping you?
None of the above; the answer would probably be finances. I need a higher paying job. It's primarily an ego issue on my part.
