That's because they achieved true socialism and money is no longer needed! Actually they aren't quite there yet, because there are still survivors.
Money being worthless is a good thing. People shouldnt need it or its nonsense. The problem is when money is worthless yet you still need it to have value.
Strive to be as self sufficient as possible people. The government doesnt care about you. The economic system doesnt care about you. If anything both will strive to suppress you as much as possible. The only way to escape that is to make it so that the whims of others dont dictate how well off you are.
The game is rigged so stop playing it.
