oh interesting. i assumed they took an anglo name way back. i also assumed that jews ran stone mills and charged high rates and poisoned the products
Until the European Union "harmonized" it all, most traditional professions in Germany required the certificate of a guild, for example master craftsman's diplomas, and there were no jews allowed. Also, there were not may jews in Germany because the Pope convinced the leaders to resettle them in Eastern Europe, as a buffer against the dangerous Orthodox Christians (dangerous to Rome, that is).
