I think old school liberals are leaving Twitter, simply because of censorship. Nobody normal wants to stay on a platform that is against freedom of speech and is manipulating user's opinions. It's not about left Vs right anymore, but intelligent people Vs Big Tech bullshit.

Yes. In the beginning it was the same thing.

Their main goal was to end monarchy and allow everybody have the same rights.
