Same thing happened with prohibition, people just made their own booze, of course, things like regulations/guidelines went out the window and you ended up with a far more dangerous product that what it was when it was legally produced.

My new design goal is a 4 barrel multi shooter. Essentially 4 barrels, 4 firing pins, and some kind of belt. Still debating, if i want to use a belt type of design, or a bucket of some kind with a feed, like the chalk thing you see at baseball field
