Look, it's the choices people make. In 2008, Black people suffered more in part because from Clinton forward, lenders were pressured to lend to Black families. That means that people accepted loans they knew they couldn't pay back. Should those loans have been offered them? Probably no. But should you sign for a loan you can't pay back? Also probably not.
>The other big monthly payments in their lives are $2,000 on their mortgage and $1,500 toward paying down their credit card debt. They’re saving very little every month, usually somewhere between $50 and $100.
These people can't actually afford their fucking house and they need to stop abusing their credit cards. That's their actual problem. Rent one of the rooms out to someone for a year and put that in savings. Or sell and cash in whatever equity you've built. Downsize and get rid of the card debt. Do anything but keep blaming whitey for the problem you created. Because while you do that? Your credit card interest that you owe is just compiling. You can whine all you want, it doesn't change your role in it.
Black women also spend on hair & beauty than white women do. It's insane. If they cut back by half of their hair spending, they would be more likely to fully fund their IRA every year. If they would just cut back on hair goo, they probably wouldn't lose the house every time there's a recession.
I'm just so sick of hearing this shit. If we pay them reparations, will that help them build generational wealth? No. Head start hasn't helped. Lower standards for Blacks' MCAT scores haven't helped. They're not good enough. They don't think clearly. They would rather have Jordans and a sharp-looking weave today than a house to pass on to their kid. That's why they don't accumulate wealth.
And anytime a Black person does it right, like Ben Carson or Terry Crews, they turn on them. Usually because they believe in things like "use your money wisely" "stick around and raise your kids" and that old classic, "go to church." Like they're always biting the hands that feed them some actual wisdom.
Good christ, do you remember how Black Twitter savaged Ben Carson's wife for not being stylish enough back in 2016? That's why she lives in a big fucking house and her kids will inherit something from her! She knows it's stupid to be a slave to Anna Wintour and the other half-wits at Vogue.
